Allow the president to invade a neighboring nation, whenever he shall deem it necessary to repel an invasion, and you allow him to do so whenever he may choose to say he deems it necessary for such a purpose - and you allow him to make war at pleasure.
--Abraham Lincoln
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are even incapable of forming such opinions.
--Albert Einstein
A man is never more truthful than when he acknowledges himself a liar.
--Mark Twain
I have tolerated myself operating from a context that I adopted as a little boy. This context informs me that people and life are a threat that I need to protect myself from.
That context leaves me separate, lonely, scared and anxious all the time. That context leaves me always putting on an "I'm just fine." facade, living a lie.
I now see that what seemed like a threat then was an illusion.
I am now free to create a context for myself, my life and the world that enlivens me, calls me to be in the world, engaged with people, loving and appreciating people, generating compassion for people and what they're dealing with, contributing and making a difference with people.
People are wonderful, Life is wonderful, and we don't always see things as they are.
The country would be run from word and integrity not blame and fault...and zero responsibility,
The congress would be transformed and connected to how do we have things work vs. who is right and who is wrong.
